Nestled in the Southeast part of Royalton, a farmer named
John Baltrusis began a
small dairy operation in the late 1920's.
Throughout the 30's raw milk was delivered by horse and buggy
by John's oldest son,
John Jr. He was known by everyone as, "Johnny the MilkMan".
As the old saying goes, "rain or shine", deliveries
were made twice daily, before
breakfast and early evening.
The raw milk, sold for $ .06$-$.10 per quart, was tested by the
Board of Health
three times a year. The cows were given TB shots yearly.
The Baltrusis Diary blossomed throughout the thirties providing
milk in the
Village of Royalton.
